My Story

Some fun facts about me:
I was born and raised in rural Arizona, where I grew up closely involved in my community’s public sector—first as a constituent (proud Girl Scout, theatre kid, and community youth athlete); then a volunteer (at age 16 I received Congressional Recognition for Outstanding Community Service from U.S. Representative Ann Kirkpatrick!); and then—as I entered the workforce—as a grant writer, development coordinator, and assistant program director.
I earned my Bachelors degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Arizona State University, where I honed my skills in grant writing, participated in my first capital campaign, and completed a variety of classes and workshops geared toward successful nonprofit leadership. I became a Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, all the while supporting the organizational operation and artistic production of a community youth theatre program in my hometown.
Upon graduating, I served as an AmeriCorps VISTA for an outdoor recreation nonprofit in the San Luis Valley, Colorado. There, I summitted Mount Blanca and the Great Sand Dunes; and met my partner, a social worker, mindfulness advocate and proud Kent-Ohioan.
We now live together with our sweet daughter and funny little dog in northeast Ohio.
(Yes – I have, somehow, adjusted to the winters!).
In recent years, I’ve served in roles like Development Officer and Grants Manager for esteemed organizations across the country, in which I’ve helped maximize their impact and learned from incredibly talented teams.
When I’m not working or spending time with my family, I love knitting, creating mixed-media art, writing, swimming, and foraging blackberries and morels in my backyard.
I can’t wait to get to know you!
